What is NDIS community access?
NDIS community access, sometimes called community participation, is support that helps a person take part in life outside the home, social and recreational activities, classes and groups, using transport, volunteering, and building the everyday skills that come with getting out into the world.
At Empower and Shine, community access is about more than filling a day. A trained, screened support worker goes alongside your young adult to help them try things, meet people, and grow in confidence, at a pace that suits them.
Community access that goes beyond a care centre.
Rather than a one-size-fits-all community access care centre, our support is shaped around the person, one-to-one or in a small group, out in the community or at centre-based activities when that is what your young adult enjoys.

Is NDIS community access right for your young adult?
Community access suits young adults who want to do more with their week, get out more often, try new activities, build independence, or simply have consistent support to enjoy the community safely.
It works well on its own, and it works well alongside supported independent living or respite, using the same trusted workers. If you are not sure whether community access sits in your plan, we will help you work it out.
